1. Kempty Fall

Known for its milky streams of water, Kempty Fall was developed by a British officer as a place for organizing tea parties. At a height of 4500 ft surrounded by the valleys of Mussoorie, Kempty Falls soon became a favourite place for a day-out tour or a picnic. Kempty Falls ropeway is the best way to explore the waterfall and get a bird’s-eye view of the surroundings. To the delight of nature lovers, the ropeway provides breathtaking views of the verdant green mountains and other water bodies.

One can also enjoy some boating in the nearby man-made pond. Several shops are there to serve food and other eatables. As it is located some 15 km distance from Mussoorie, it opens during the daytime only from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The best time to visit Kempty Fall is during summer i.e June to October. 2. Mall Road

Most famous promenade in Queen of the Hills, Mussoorie is The Mall. At an height of above 2000 mtrs, The Mall is major attraction in Mussoorie. Almost every visitor of Mussoorie have to visit the beautiful Mall Road which stretches from Picture Palace at east to the Library at the west. Located at the heart of Mussoorie city, The Mall is famous for picturesque viewpoints providing amazing views of the Doon Valley. Benches and lampposts are fixed at every viewpoint at the Mall. Colonial-style houses exhibit British architecture.

Visitors likes to buy some memorable things at the series of shops at both sides of the Mall Road. The Mall is also a prominent shopping location in Mussoorie. There are old styled video Game parlours and exciting skating rinks available for kids entertainment. An aquarium and a Methodist Church are also present on the mall road. SBI Building and Cambridge book store are some other landmarks on the Mall. 

3. Bhatta Falls

Bhatta Falls is a recently developed picnic spot near Mussoorie. Located about 7 km from the main Mussoorie city, Bhatta Falls is still untouched by commercialization and has a natural stream of water flowing down the hills. Near the township of Mussoorie, Bhatta Falls is a major tourist picnic spot. Visitors can see several picturesque locations ideal for photographers to catch nature at its best.

Although the main stream is filled up with algae, but one can find a refreshing water at nearby pond. Tourists like to bath with fun at the pond. Slopes and Swings are also provided in the Children’s Park for playing purpose. Tourists are advised to carry their own lunch as there is also some small eateries are available. Bhatta Fall Ropeway connects Bhatta Village to the mesmerizing Bhatta Fall. The rope-way was opened on 1st July 2019 after a successful trial by the scientists of IIT Roorkee engineering division.

4. George Everest House

George Everest House is situated about 6 kms from Gandhi Chowk in Mussoorie and one of the major tourist attractions in Mussoorie which is secluded and peaceful. It offers spectacular views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks and panoramic views of the Doon Valley.

Sir George Everest’s House and Laboratory, also known as the Park Estate was built in 1832. These days the George Everest House and George Everest Peak are famous for camping, picnics and adventure outings. Being close to Mussoorie and Dehradun, it is getting popular day by day.

It was the home and laboratory of Sir George Everest. He was a Surveyor-General of India from 1830 to 1843. Sir George bought the Park Estate in Mussoorie located on the western edge of town in 1833 and lived here for almost a decade before retiring to England.

5. Camel Back Road

A beautiful peaceful walk under nature will always boost calmness and inner peace. Camel Back Road provides the same experience in Mussoorie. This 3 km long road is named Camel Back Rd due to the presence of a natural layout of rocks shaped like a camel’s hump at the end of the road. Starting from Library Point to Kulri Bazaar, Camel Back Road is one of the must visit location in Mussoorie.

One can witness a romantic sunrise and sunset from this road easily. A perfect way to walk with nature at all around, Camel Back Road is little bit crowded in summers morning and evening. Visitors also like to enjoy snacks and amazing views of Doon Valley from this road. A 180-year-old British Cemetery also catches visitor’s eyes while walking at Camel Back Rd. Camel Back Road is located at the center of Mussoorie city and one can reach easily at Camel Back Road by autorickshaw or by foot. 

6. Gun Hill

A historical and second-highest peak of Mussoorie, Gun Hill is an amazing place for viewing the picturesque Himalayan range and Doon Valley. A popular viewpoint of Mussoorie, Gun Point is located 400 ft above The Mall and accessible by a cable car as well. At the second top peak of the Mussoorie, Gun Hill is a popular place among photographers and Himalayan viewers as it provides a 360-degree view of Himalayan ranges namely Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara Gangotri group, etc.

8. Lal Tibba

Popular among tourists and travellers for viewing long trails of major mountain peaks as well as romantic sunset and sunrise, Lal Tibba is located at Depot Hill in Landour. Tourists are attracted toward the Lal Tibba, as it is still untouched by commercialization and other major commercial activities. Located at the Landour area in Depot Hill, Lal Tibba provides a mesmerising views of Himalayan mountain peaks.
